Facility Operations Assistant

Eagan Civic Arena Pay:

$22.236 Part-time Recurring (Year-round), Not Benefit Eligible, Non-Exempt The City of Eagan is hiring a Facility Operations Assistant for the Eagan Civic Arena!

In this part-time role, you'll be the go-to person when full-time staff are away, ensuring that every guest enjoys an exceptional experience. You'll lead a dedicated group of part-time staff, oversee exciting events, and help create memorable moments for our community. Up to 20 hours per week, with a schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays.

Open until filled Essential Position Functions

Oversee the Eagan Civic Arena (building and grounds) to maintain a clean and safe environment for all users Manage part-time building staff, ensuring they are completing tasks and following established policies and procedures Serve as the primary on-site contact person for customers, events, room rentals & vendors. This includes handling any conflicts in a professional and courteous fashion Assist guests in the registration for recreational programs and activities, and in the reservation of facility rental spaces Maintain working knowledge of all building operations: ice resurfacing, pro shop, meetings/events, concessions, programs & services Responsible for end of day deposits and financial reports Ensure the completion of light maintenance including but not limited to: room set-up and take-down, general cleaning (windows, floors, spills, tables, chairs, vacuuming, clean surfaces in rest rooms and locker rooms, restock paper products, pick up outside litter and snow removal when needed) on a nightly/daily basis Coordinate and implement any recreational program or activity and assist in any city-wide events as assigned Complete on-going facility program evaluations, injury reports, damage reports and equipment or supply request forms Open and close the building as scheduled Act as emergency coordinator according to emergency action plan when necessary Operate the ice resurfacer and maintain ice surface. Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) Valid driver's license Two-year ice maintenance experience. One year of direct customer service experience in an environment that is highly visible and active Six months supervisory experience Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds Things That May Help You Be Successful In This Role

One year of college work in Recreation, Education or related field. Equivalent experience would be acceptable More than one year of direct customer service experience in an environment that is highly visible and active More than six months supervisory experience Current CPR and first aid training and/or certification Experience operating a skate sharpening equipment Working Conditions and Expectations: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear and write Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision and peripheral vision Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds The employee may occasionally climb a ladder, operate a lift, and operate a vehicle with multiple hand and foot operations Must have the ability to walk on the ice surface Must be able to perform all essential position functions under the working conditions as described Must be self-motivated and a hard-working individual Located in the Twin Cities metro area, Eagan is home to about 68,000 people.
