Reporting to the ASC Manager under the leadership of the Surgery Center Administrator, the ASC Charge RN is involved with the overall management and coordination of the ASC's daily operations, ensuring patient safety and quality care. This role involves supervising the nursing and CST staff, collaborating with the surgical team, managing patient flow, addressing real-time issues and participating in quality improvement issues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operational Oversight: Supervise daily operations of the ASC, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow to ensure optimal patient care and operational efficiency. Planning: Collaborate with leadership to set operational goals and develop action plans to achieve them. Ensure resources are allocated appropriately to meet anticipated daily and long-term workloads. Compliance & Safety: Monitor adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, infection control) and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Staffing & Development: a. Lead new-hire onboarding, orientation, and training of ASC staff. b. Oversee and direct the activities of the perioperative staff. c. Prioritize and delegate tasks to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery. d. Coordinate patient flow through the surgical suite, ensuring smooth transitions between different stages of care. e. Quality Assurance: Track and analyze productivity, quality, and patient outcomes. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance care delivery and operational performance. Patient Satisfaction: Act as the point of contact for patient concerns, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution. Collaborate with staff and leadership to continuously improve patient experience. Qualifications
Education/Certification/License: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current RN license in the State of Indiana. Must possess current BLS and ACLS. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Previous RN experience in an Operating Room setting. BSN with 3 years of clinical experience practicing in a surgery setting OR/AND ASN with 5 years clinical experience practicing in a surgery setting. Passional for leadership, collaboration, and improving outcomes for patients and team members alike. Strong clinical judgement and the ability to lead with compassion and confidence. Special Demands/Requirements: None. -Works in a patient care/operating room environment which required physical exertion, frequent changes in job demands and certain undesirable patient care activities and possible exposure to biohazards. -Work schedule may vary to meet need of the SurgiCenter.
