Neurology Consultant Position
Location: Herrin, IL Facility: Professional Office Building Time Type: Full Time Shift: Day Position Summary:
Responsible for inpatient neurology consults and follow-up rounding at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale and Herrin Hospital. Works collaboratively within a team of neurointensivists and APPs to provide comprehensive care to neurological patients within the inpatient scope of care. Education:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from a CAHEA accredited program. Master's Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing Studies from a CCNEA accredited program. Licenses and Certification:
Current Illinois Licensed Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse. Current NCCPA certificate as a Physician Assistant or AACC certificate as an Advanced Practice Nurse or MEAC certificate as a Certified Professional Midwife. Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse practitioner-controlled substance licensure. Experience:
Neurocritical care experience preferred. Role Specific Responsibilities: Performs history and physical assessments of patients. Orders appropriate diagnostic/screening studies and interprets results. Formulates diagnosis and implements treatment plan to manage acute illness and stable chronic illness. Consults and collaborates with neurointensivists, APPs, or appropriate specialist to plan and manage the care for patients with unstable or complex acute or chronic illness. Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Prescribes and/or dispenses medication. Provides patient education with emphasis on the promotion of health and wellness and the prevention of illness and disability. Demonstrates patient advocacy that ensures the patient's right to privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent. Compensation (Commensurate with experience):
