Mortgage Credit Review Specialist
The Mortgage Credit Review Specialist is responsible for conducting thorough reviews of mortgage loan files with a focus on collateral valuation, and regulatory compliance. This role includes reviewing appraisal reports for accuracy and consistency with lending guidelines and preparing adverse action notices when a loan does not meet credit or collateral requirements. The specialist works closely with underwriters, loan officers, and compliance teams to ensure high-quality credit decisions and adherence to lending policies. Responsibilities: Analyze and validate appraisal reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory and bank guidelines to minimize collateral risk Handle Reconsideration of Value (ROV) requests and act as the liaison between borrower and Appraiser/AMC to ensure ROV requests are documented, tracked and communicated appropriately and timely Identify deficiencies or risk concerns in collateral or borrower credit profile Prepare and issue denial (adverse action) letters in compliance with applicable Regulations Document findings and provide feedback to underwriting or processing teams as needed Maintain knowledge of lending regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices Assist in internal audits or quality control reviews as required Participate in other departmental assignments or projects as deemed necessary Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, credit review, or appraisal review Strong knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, appraisal standards, and credit analysis Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills Experience with Encompass Loan Origination System and appraisal review application preferred Compensation: The base pay range for this position is USD $69,000.00/Yr. - USD $90,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
