Description:

Successful candidate will provides secretarial / clerical support to Library Media Specialist to order, inventory, catalog, account for materials and equipment, and fill requisitions. Qualifications:

Energetic, relational and compassionate, professional, capable of building quality relationships with students and adults.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Assists with managing library operations in library to process materials, work with students and staff members, access files, data input, files, shelves, repairs books, uses classroom and media equipment, types, word processes, keeps records and makes reports. 2. Assists library media specialist to prepare for teaching and motivating students and teachers to use the library for pleasure and as the center for information; assists students and teachers in use of library and equipment; procures maintains supplies and equipment. 3. Assists with keeping a current media inventory and disseminates to all staff members. 4. Checks in, processes and records new books, equipment and supplies; returns interlibrary loan materials. 5. Receives and records arrival of orders; inspects all incoming shipments for damages, takes appropriate action and makes reports. 6. Checks out and in borrowed books, tapes and equipment; compiles overdue lists. 7. Assists students with research on computer; shelves books and periodicals. 8. Helps with all Book Fairs in library. 9. Checks returned books and equipment for maintenance. Reports, records, mends, shelves. 10. Sorts and stores audiovisual materials. 11. Takes inventories of library materials, equipment, and or supplies. 12. Maintains the library in orderly condition. 13. Assists with seasonal construction of displays. 14. Assists with maintaining classroom decorum supportive of district and / or building behavior codes and regulations; observes for variances in behavior. 15. Assists in activities sponsored by library. 16. Assists as needed in supervising students in any setting.
