Boiler Operator

Virginia Military Institute is accepting applications for a full-time Boiler Operator to join our team. Job Duties include: performing tasks associated with the daily operation and maintenance of boilers, steam piping, and condensate systems; completing daily logs and checklists; servicing a variety of heating equipment and controls; adhering to Physical Plant safety directives; and being willing to perform after-hours work. Minimum Qualifications include: good communication, written, and oral skills; problem solving skills and adaptability; a valid Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record; and a third class or higher Facility Operating Engineer license or Power Plant Operating Engineer license. Additional Considerations include: extensive experience with boilers, steam systems, or combustion systems; trades licenses and certifications; and a high school graduate or GED.
