IR Seeker Engineer

Our client is a leading defense contractor supporting the US Navy and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) by conducting trade studies, design prototyping, and analysis of advanced radar, EO/IR sensors, RF seeker systems, electronic warfare systems, and weapon systems. They are seeking an experienced IR Seeker Engineer to contribute to the development of digital representations of IR seekers for deliverable simulations to government customers and end-users. Location: Columbia, MD Pay Rate: 90-100/hr. W2 This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Understand customer requirements and support a team of engineers and software developers in designing and developing simulation solutions. Demonstrate simulation capabilities to government customers and other critical stakeholders. Identify and evaluate critical design points, such as seeker windows, lenses, filters, and focal plane array design, and relate these to the physical design of the seeker. Design and document the IR sensor concept of operations, including modes of operation, timelines, operating wavebands, and scan patterns. Implement signal processing algorithms, including detection, tracking, discrimination, and decision logic. Experience Requirements

6 to 10 years of IR seeker systems engineering experience, including IR seeker physical design, signal processing design and analyses, and seeker testing. Experience in the design or analysis of electromagnetic sensors. Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics. Additional Requirements

Must have an active Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
