Health Records Technician

Responsible for ensuring the retrieval of all discharged records and the timely availability of quality scanned documents in the electronic medical record for patient care. Retrieval, reconciliation, preparation scanning, quality control checks and validation to ensure that all records scanned in the electronic medical record is of the highest quality possible. Reviews, compiles, indexes, and categorizes documents to make sure documents are accurate and route to correct patient in the electronic medical record. Conducts 100% quality review of scanned documents and has the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to documents Understands that validation and completion of the quality review process ensures integrity and legality of the electronic medical record. Reports any missing charts greater than 48 hours to Supervisor for follow-up. Identify all missing charts on spreadsheet. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of changes in coding guidelines and regulations. Participates in educational opportunities to enhance knowledge in coding and reimbursement systems. Maintains certification to validate coding skills. Reporting to the HIM Operations Manager What You Will Need:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of two years' experience in a medical records department or other office environment experience with medical record review processes and the processing of electronic medical records required. Good organizational and analytical skills Must have professional telephone manners and communication skills. $17.65- $23.85 Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location. About Us:
