AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to new product releases that set AWS apart in the industry. As a member of UC, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with customers requiring specialized security solutions for their cloud services. Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI) seeks an experienced Windows Systems Engineer with deep knowledge of Windows Active Directory and desktop services, including virtual desktops and infrastructure. This role requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, and the candidate must maintain this clearance and opt into additional clearances for government agencies as needed. Key responsibilities include: Manage, operate, and maintain Active Directory and related systems (DNS, DHCP, NPS, Exchange) Ensure security compliance through OS and desktop application hardening Manage metrics and monitoring services Create and update system documentation for engineering, operations, and support teams A day in the life Our mission is to deliver robust, highly available, and user-friendly services to internal customers supporting the Amazon Dedicated Cloud for U.S. Government clients. The role involves maintaining and enhancing existing services, including Windows build/deployment, application packaging/deployment, and troubleshooting. Collaboration with the Security Compliance team is essential to ensure desktop security compliance. The ideal candidate will have a diverse technical background, a passion for continuous learning, and the ability to approach problems confidently. Basic Qualifications Associate's degree or certifications like Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP 5+ years supporting Windows OS, including 4 of the following: AD, DHCP, PowerShell, Email workflow, SCCM, SCOM, DNS, disaster recovery Basic networking troubleshooting skills Proficiency in PowerShell scripting Active US Government Security Clearance (TS/SCI with Polygraph) Preferred Qualifications 8+ years supporting Windows OS with similar competencies Proven ability to handle ambiguity, prioritize, and deliver results Strong communication skills for technical documentation Higher education in a computer-related field Additional certifications like Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP Experience with scripting languages like Python, Ruby, or Java We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
