Location:
San Jose (on-site) Ayar Labs is pushing the boundaries of optical interconnect technology with our revolutionary multi-wavelength sources and CMOS chiplets. We are seeking an experienced Validation Engineer to lead validation efforts ensuring our products meet and exceed component and system-level requirements. This role will drive the transition of our technology from initial release to customer deployment, guaranteeing a seamless and high-performance experience. Essential Functions:
Lead Validation Strategy:
Define and implement validation methodologies, develop test plans, success criteria, and select appropriate test equipment. Drive Product Bring-up:
Collaborate with Design Engineering to bring up silicon photonic and laser products, troubleshooting issues. Validate Performance:
Conduct design validation through electrical and optical characterization of chips and systems. Continuous Improvement:
Work with teams to identify and implement product improvements via ATE, bench characterization, etc. Documentation:
Author and maintain validation reports and documentation. Critical Decisions:
Make decisions on design trade-offs and specifications for readiness for deployment. Develop Test Software:
Create and maintain scripts and hardware for validation. Ensure Timely Delivery:
Manage schedules and validation execution to meet timelines and quality standards. Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 2+ years in semiconductor lasers, photonics, system test, validation Experience with component/system test equipment (BERT, DCA, OSA) and signal metrics (TDECQ, SRS, URS) Programming experience (Python) for automation and data analysis Knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet, PCIe) Ability to analyze complex technical problems Understanding of data analysis and statistical methods Experience with SoC validation, bring-up, debugging, optimization Knowledge of high-speed SerDes and optical transceiver packaging Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. Proficiency in test equipment and metrics Advanced programming skills Experience with high-speed SerDes characterization Salary range: $150,000 - $192,000 Note to Recruiters:
