Position Overview
Join Onward Energy as the
Director of M&A / Business Development . This role involves leading and supporting M&A initiatives, acquiring assets, negotiating transactions, and developing strategic partnerships to advance the company's growth in renewable energy projects. Key Responsibilities
Lead and support M&A and business development activities aligned with corporate goals Identify and acquire generation assets meeting investment criteria Negotiate and execute transactions, oversee due diligence Present investment recommendations to leadership and boards Mentor and develop the in-house M&A team Maintain relationships with industry partners, EPCs, banks, and suppliers Stay informed on market trends and regulations affecting investments Engage with industry and governmental organizations Contribute to strategic planning processes Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field Minimum six years of experience in power M&A or business development, including financial modeling Experience in transaction negotiation, due diligence, and legal documentation Background in renewables, storage, or natural gas transactions Proven track record of closing generation deals Experience with IPPs, developers, private equity, or investment banks Strong communication skills Organizational skills with ability to multitask and pay attention to detail Team-oriented work ethic Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Ability to perform physical tasks with or without accommodation, including sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds Ability to travel up to 10% Work in a smoke and vape-free office environment Location
