Python Software Engineer Data Platform
Seattle, WA (hybrid)

Pay Range: $55.00 - $75.00 per hr
Job Description:
We're seeking a Python Software Engineer with a strong interest in data platform technologies to join our growing data infrastructure team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced data engineers and product managers to build, maintain, and enhance a scalable platform that supports data-driven decision-making. You will contribute to shaping the core of our data ecosystem, supporting analytics, machine learning, and automation initiatives. If you enjoy solving impactful problems and are excited about cloud-scale data architecture, this role could be a great fit. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and improve scalable data platform components and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Create and maintain data workflows and pipelines using modern orchestration tools. Support data transformation logic and documentation using frameworks like dbt. Automate data validation and quality checks. Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across data systems and integrations. Continuously seek improvements in platform performance, reliability, and developer experience.
Required Skills:
Foundational experience in Python software engineering or backend development. Interest or exposure to cloud-based data platforms, especially AWS. Familiarity with or willingness to learn tools such as Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow. Basic understanding of data modeling, data quality principles, and ETL processes. Introductory experience or coursework in Python. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills in a collaborative environment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Bonus/Soft Skills:
Exposure to distributed data systems like Kafka, Spark, or Dask. Experience with metadata management or data governance. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau. Interest in personal finance, fintech, or consumer data products. Experience working in agile or cross-functional teams.
