About The Role The successful candidate will serve as a high-level specialist in a Project Architect role, responsible for leading all technical development and content for a 2.0+ million square foot healthcare facility at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Rochester, MN. This includes coordinating work across disciplines to ensure integrated deliverables and verifying compliance through team collaboration.
Responsibilities
Manage the critical path process, guiding the project team through all technical and production phases from pre-design to project completion.
Engage regularly with the Office or Project Quality Leader for project support.
Develop and integrate all technical aspects of the project, translating them into our instruments of service.
Work with the Project Manager to establish realistic work and labor plans, schedules, and budgets.
Participate in and contribute to the Project Risk Assessment process, proactively managing project issues.
Guide Project Architects in developing Project Quality Plans and managing project quality standards.
Oversee the development and execution of documentation strategies for each project phase.
Collaborate with the Project Design Lead to align design goals with client expectations, budgets, and schedules.
Translate design intent into technical documentation through project completion.
Integrate sustainable design and building performance goals into the project.
Monitor project documentation for contractual compliance.
Assist with Life Safety, Building, and Energy Code compliance processes.
Coordinate disciplines to ensure alignment with architectural intent.
Monitor quality of model processes and content in collaboration with the Model Manager.
Ensure contract documentation aligns with project specifications and drawings.
Lead construction administration responsibilities, including RFIs and submittals.
Supervise and mentor project team members, focusing on quality and process standards.
Achieve utilization targets and support office quality initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum 10 years of related experience, including 5 years in construction documentation and 3 years in construction administration on large projects.
Current Architectural Registration in the U.S.
Preferred: CDT and LEED accreditation.
Strong knowledge of building codes, quality focus, business acumen, and client leadership skills.
Technical leadership capabilities, mentoring skills, and proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
Professional business attire for client meetings and willingness to travel.
Compensation & Benefits The salary range is $108,958 to $163,488 annually for this Chicago-based position, with potential bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, flexible spending, paid time off, remote options, and a 401k plan.
