EED drives integration of Aerospaces strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise, leveraging a broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. It spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment and application of space-enabled mission effects. About SNAPD
The Surveillance and Navigation Architectures Performance Department (SNAPD) aims to be the premier force advising the evolution of national security and civil space enterprises, leveraging modeling and simulation expertise to evaluate architecture performance. SNAPD supports requirements definition/verification, analyses-of-alternatives (AoA), and end-to-end performance evaluations of customer space-based architectures across various mission areas. We are seeking a Department Director to lead staff, coordinate with customers, and collaborate on multidisciplinary analyses to ensure mission success. Work Model
This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, or Colorado Springs, CO. Responsibilities Lead the development of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) capabilities and products to support research, development, and acquisition decisions. Foster a center of excellence supporting mission areas such as geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, PNT systems, space protection, and communications/ground infrastructure. Recruit, onboard, and develop the department management team and senior staff through performance management, evaluation, mentoring, and coaching. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and collaborators, ensuring effective collaboration. Create an organizational culture that promotes innovation, and lead multidisciplinary teams of analysts. Coordinate technical tasks among customers, manage resources, and ensure quality of work products. Work closely with leadership to foster an effective, cohesive organization. Monitor and improve organizational processes, functions, compliance, and safety.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in STEM or related discipline. At least 10 years of professional experience leading technical teams and coordinating complex modeling and analysis tasks. Proven expertise in modeling, simulation, and analysis for architecture evaluations. Effective communication skills with management, program offices, customers, contractors, and staff. Active TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters or PhD in a related STEM field. Leadership experience in customer-facing organizations. Knowledge of Intelligence Community or DoD business practices, policies, or space mission portfolios. Experience in managing technical teams, mentoring, and resolving technical/personnel issues.
Compensation
The salary range is $168,200 - $252,400 annually, determined by education, experience, and skills. Leadership and Culture
