Job Overview: LPL Financial is seeking an AVP, Product Owner in trading within LPL's Product Management, one of the most visible departments in our organization. As a trusted business partner, you will drive outcomes, lead cross-functional teams, drive strategy, and contribute to analysis that enables our leadership team to make informed decisions in trading and vendor platforms, focusing on advisor experience, operational efficiency, trade routing, order management, and related solutions.
To succeed, the candidate should have a strong understanding of how financial professionals and wealth managers operate, especially regarding the trading lifecycle at LPL, and possess a consultative mindset with expertise in financial services, regulatory environment, Agile development, and management. The role involves leading interactions with clients, business leads, internal teams, and external partners to support our long-term strategy.
The AVP, Product Owner, of trading, maximizes the Scrum Team’s value, maintains the Product Backlog, and works with stakeholders, clients, and the business to nurture the product community. The role acts as a liaison, ensuring the team builds the right solutions at the right time, providing clarity on 'who, what, and why'.
Responsibilities:
Meet with Stakeholders to understand the strategic vision for the Product
Collaborate with the Product Manager to define Features
Break Features down into User Stories and prioritize the Product Backlog
Eliminate interruptions between the Scrum Team and the Business
Coordinate across business and technology during development
Manage expectations with stakeholders, end users, and partners
Prioritize and accept work developed by the team(s)
Assist with creating Acceptance Criteria and Definitions of Ready and Done
Attend Scrum Ceremonies to support the Scrum Team
Review User Stories for Acceptance Criteria compliance
Showcase team accomplishments and gather feedback
Represent the team at SoS and monitor program direction
Advocate for the Scrum Team’s capabilities and limitations
Contribute to strategies that evolve LPL into a leading trading organization
Contribute to governance and executive dashboards with key metrics
Build effective relationships with stakeholders and ensure communication
Report on all products to inform decision-making
Organize and monitor interconnected products and initiatives

Requirements:
5+ years in product management, consulting, or project management, preferably in financial services or Fintech
3+ years leading high-performing teams in an Agile environment
Preferred Core Competencies:
Certified Scrum Product Owner or Professional Scrum Product Owner preferred
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and drive outcomes
Deep understanding of the trading lifecycle and order management
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Business acumen and experience interacting with senior leaders
Strong analytical skills for evaluating opportunities and results
Proactive risk management skills
Pay Range:
