Proceeds help fund Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region's mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing.Position SummaryThe Sales Associate is a frontline representative of the ReStore, responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and creating a positive shopping experience. This role involves assisting customers with product inquiries, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, restocking merchandise, and supporting the overall efficiency of daily retail operations. The Sales Associate plays a vital role in promoting the ReStore's mission by ensuring a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for all shoppers.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a lead cashier, processing all customer transactions quickly and accurately using the POS systemMaintain a balanced cash drawer and follow all cash handling proceduresGreet customers warmly and assist with questions, purchases, and general inquiriesPromote positive customer experience at the register and throughout the sales floorSupport merchandising efforts by pricing, stocking, and organizing products as neededHelp maintain cleanliness and organization at the front end and throughout the storeAssist customers with loading purchases, with occasional lifting of heavy items (up to 50 lbs)Follow all store safety, operational, and customer service policiesActively represent and promote the mission and values of Habitat Charlotte RegionQualificationsStrong commitment to customer service and transaction accuracyAbility to handle cash and operate a POS system confidentlyFriendly, helpful attitude with strong communication skillsAble to lift/move up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periodsTeam-oriented, dependable, and punctualSupportive of Habitat for Humanity's mission and service valuesFlexible availability, including weekendsWork EnvironmentThis role is active and physical, involving frequent standing, lifting, and working in both retail and donation/warehouse spaces. It also includes regular interaction with a diverse customer base, donors, volunteers, and staff.QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong communication skills Customer Service experience Show initiative Work EnvironmentThis position requires working indoors in a retail setting, outdoors in all types of weather, and in warehouse settings with or without climate control.Physical DemandsAbility to stand for extended periods of time Ability to move merchandise throughout the store Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, 70 lbs. with assistance Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, Saturdays, and holidays Estimated Time CommitmentAverage of 25 hours per week.
