We have an excellent opportunity for a
Senior Backplane Designer
to join our team of professionals in our Fremont, CA location. As a
Backplane Design Engineer , you will: Design
low to medium complexity backplanes
based on customer specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Collaborate with customers, electrical engineers, and designers to define
optimal product specifications . Modify PCB layouts and ensure
signal integrity
in high-speed designs. Support
test technicians
for RMA-related issues as needed.
What You'll Do
Develop
PCB designs
based on customer input and industry standards (VITA, PICMG).
Design custom
high-speed backplanes
(VME/64X, VXS, VPX, cPCI, ATCA) with DFM principles.
Prepare
backplane schematics , check plots, and
Gerber files
while ensuring compliance with Elma's
ISO processes .
Interface with customers, PCB fabrication shops, and manufacturing/testing personnel.
Participate in
design reviews
and troubleshoot engineering challenges.
What We're Looking For
Strong understanding of
electronics and signal integrity principles .
Proficiency in
P-CAD and Altium Designer
for PCB design.
Extensive experience in
backplane/PCB and circuit design .
Familiarity with
VITA and PICMG standards .
Ability to
review emerging technologies
and educate internal teams.
Excellent
communication skills
and ability to work independently & collaboratively.
BSEE
degree with
7+ years of experience
in backplane design.
