Job Description

Fuel is seeking a Storage Systems Engineer. The engineer will oversee the full lifecycle of storage area network (SAN) administration, architecture, and support. Responsibilities include defining requirements, creating design documentation, installation instructions, deployment plans, and providing operations and maintenance (O&M) support. Projects may involve engineering geographically dispersed services, private and hybrid cloud environments, and enhancing security and SCAP compliance. Additional duties include responding to alerts, customer issues, escalating problems, and resolving issues independently to maintain storage system integrity and security. The engineer will also participate in root cause analysis and recommend improvements. Key Responsibilities

Manage SAN administration, architecture, and support, including capacity planning and storage utilization adjustments. Design modifications to SAN infrastructure; assist with implementation and documentation of configuration changes. Diagnose and resolve Tier 1 through Tier 3 storage problems. Collaborate with teams and vendors to resolve hardware issues and optimize storage technologies. Research new storage technologies and recommend solutions. Utilize storage management tools for monitoring, provisioning, and reporting. Ensure security and integrity of storage systems following protocols. Develop and manage disaster recovery procedures for SANs and virtual environments. Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 15 years of hands-on storage experience, including RAID, network storage types, and best practices. Experience with enterprise storage solutions, capacity planning, and performance optimization. Proficiency in configuring and analyzing storage interfaces like iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and LUN sizing. Meet 8570 IAT II requirements, with relevant certifications (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP). Experience designing backup solutions with tools like Tivoli or NetBackup. Experience with Linux system administration in virtual environments using VMWare. Demonstrated expertise in Linux, NetApp, and VMWare. Desired Skills

Scripting in UNIX Shell, Python, BASH. Experience with Active Directory, system logging, and auditing. Familiarity with task management tools like JIRA and ServiceNow. Knowledge of firewall and storage concepts, including NFS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel. High-level understanding of cloud technologies. About Fuel
