Manage payroll processes across all managed non-profits, including handling exceptions, new hires, terminations, and overseeing time and attendance tracking and personnel allocations. Oversee the payroll cycle, manage payroll calendar, and ensure proper processing, review, submission, and reconciliation. Review and approve payroll entries, and implement back-end adjustments as needed. Support the senior director in final payroll approvals and submissions. Coordinate off-cycle payrolls and garnishments, and handle live checks. Serve as the payroll expert for internal and external stakeholders, researching as necessary. Assist in developing payroll objectives, standards, and special projects. HRIS/Data Management
Act as HRIS system administrator, collaborating on system enhancements. Manage payroll documentation, including collection, review, storage, and compliance. Maintain data integrity and produce payroll reports. Develop systems to streamline payroll and tax information exchange. Coordinate with finance to resolve discrepancies and inquiries. Lead cross-team payroll process improvements and audits. Compliance
Ensure timekeeping system compliance and follow up as needed. Review and update federal and state tax filings. Work with Compliance Assistant on state registrations and reporting requirements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. At least 4 years in HR, with 2+ years in payroll and multi-state tax environments, including California. Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Ultimate Software. Experience in professional services, PEO, or similar environments is highly desirable. Ability to manage high volume tasks with shifting priorities. Core Competencies
