Hopper . Hopper’s Hotel Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) team is responsible for integrating our proprietary fintech offerings with major travel companies and our direct-to-consumer services. This role involves working on both B2C and B2B2C verticals, constructing scalable systems, and innovating current and new fintech offerings to deliver value to customers and Hopper. We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our fintech team, where you will have a significant impact on our critical roadmaps. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, deploying, and operating complex backend systems powering our integrations. Daily Responsibilities
Iterate on features using agile methodologies with technologies like Scala (training provided), GCP, OpenAPI, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, etc. Design core systems within a microservices architecture. Deploy and iterate on code quickly, within days. Collaborate with diverse teams, providing and receiving feedback. Contribute to the company's growth by executing on strategic opportunities. Ideal Candidate Attributes
Experience with leading industry techniques and technologies. Strong understanding of distributed systems and architectural impacts on performance and maintainability. Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Frontend Engineers. Focus on quality, writing scalable, testable code. Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to evolving goals. Cloud experience, preferably with Scala libraries, and travel or eCommerce background. Interest or experience in contributing to front-end development, especially React, is a plus. Perks and Benefits
