Principal Software QA Engineer
to join our FortiSwitch Team.
As a Principal Software QA Engineer, you will:
Design, develop, and execute test plans from functional specifications.
Execute test cases across all system areas, including functional, system, scaling, throughput, stress, and soak testing.
Identify, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs to resolution.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts to validate all aspects of products based on various test cases.
Assist in diagnosing, duplicating, and resolving customer issues.
Lead live troubleshooting sessions with customers.
Collaborate closely with software developers and QA team members to ensure defects are correctly identified, reproduced, and fixed.
Create documentation and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
We Are Looking for:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in testing and automation.
Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including Layer 2, 3, and 4 protocols and concepts such as VLAN, VxLan, STP, LACP, QoS, NetFlow, sFlow, ACL, MRP, HSR, PRP, PTP, DHCP, IGMP, ARP, VRF, PBR, ISIS, RIP, BGP, BGP-EVPN, PIM, HA redundancy, TCP, UDP, HTTP.
Knowledge of security firewall concepts, such as firewall policies and IPsec tunnels.
Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems for daily tasks.
Experience with scripting languages like Python, Java, or Perl.
Experience using Spirent or Ixia traffic generators.
GUI testing experience is a plus.
Knowledge of virtualization and cloud environments is a plus.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 - $200,000. Fortinet offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and other benefits. Salary offers are determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location. All roles are eligible for the company's equity program, and bonus eligibility is reviewed at hire and annually.
