Job Title: IT Project Specialist - Quality Assurance (QA)
The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to join the IT & Telecom division's QA team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a QA Subject Matter Expert, with expertise in industry standards, manual, automated, and performance testing.
The role involves working with the QA team to implement best practices, procedures, and metrics to ensure software releases meet quality standards. The candidate will collaborate with Application Development and Project Management teams to improve software development and testing processes, utilizing the latest tools and frameworks.
Minimum Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree in a relevant field plus four years of related full-time experience, or
Associate degree plus six years of related full-time experience, or
Baccalaureate degree plus eight years of related full-time experience, or
Equivalent education and/or experience.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in requirements analysis, test plan development, and writing test cases based on business and functional requirements.
Experience with test script execution, defect tracking, and various testing types including functional, regression, SIT, UAT, GUI, security, and performance testing.
Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (LoadRunner, JMeter) and automation tools (Selenium, QTP, Visual Studio, Cucumber).
Knowledge of SDLC processes, including Waterfall, RUP, Agile/Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
Experience testing mobile applications and understanding of mobile testing specifics.
Development experience with modern technologies (.NET, Angular, React, etc.).
Strong SQL skills for QA tasks.
Experience implementing test automation frameworks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with MS Office, basic networking, and hardware knowledge.
Ability to learn new technologies and tools.
