The Prototype CNC Programmer Sr, under limited supervision, performs and provides specialized machining capabilities to engineering and manufacturing engineering. Provides technical assistance and leadership to tool shop associates. Adheres to and supports safety policies and procedures. Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled CNC Programmer Sr with extensive experience in CNC programming, machining processes, and quality standards. They should possess a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem solving. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety and quality are essential. Core Responsibilities
Interface with engineers for prototype parts to support in-house R&D and quality programs. Support tooling for test rigs/fixtures for testing. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and tool designers to meet production requirements. Provide feedback to customers to improve and simplify designs. Prioritize and coordinate jobs within the tool shop. Direct tool shop machinists for setup and CNC operations. Ensure quality of finish and tolerances in machined components. Program CNC Lathes and Mills using Mastercam Software. Set up and operate CNC equipment following safety policies. Maintain and operate machining tools like lathes, mills, drill presses. Diagnose and repair machine issues, replace worn parts, and perform machining operations. Work from instructions, sketches, blueprints, and engineering drawings with minimal supervision. Maintain regular attendance; overtime and weekend work may be required. Job Specifications
Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Vocational training, apprenticeships, or related experience. 7+ years relevant experience. Skills
Experience with semi-repetitive machine operations. Strong skills in Lathe and 3-1/2 axis Milling tools. Proficiency in Mastercam and Microsoft Office. Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances. Ability to use hand tools and machinery. Follow instructions from sketches, blueprints, and manuals. Problem-solving skills with sound judgment. Effective communication skills. Additional Details
