Job Title: Sr. Sensor System Oceanographic Engineer (Full Time)

We are seeking an experienced Oceanic Engineer to support project leadership, analysis, procurement, installation, and site acceptance testing of an undersea sensor system at test ranges and coastal locations. Candidates should be self-starters, teachable, and able to learn new skills to collaboratively solve technical problems. Worldwide travel may be required.
Job Description
Support conversion of customer requirements into clear system specifications for monitoring and surveillance of undersea instrumentation, electronics, command and control, and sensor networks.
Support planning, site preparation, integration, configuration, operations, and maintenance of sensor systems and data analysis of system health and environmental measurements.
Perform systems engineering processes, procedures, and best practices.
Provide engineering expertise in development, testing, evaluation, training, and configuration management.
Support evaluation and integration of new capabilities.
Collaborate with system, hardware, and software teams to design solutions.
Work with test and sustainment teams to ensure requirements are met and systems are properly emplaced.
Candidate Qualifications
Strong desire to contribute to team success.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
High proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Required Experience and Skills
Technical expertise in remote sensor systems.
Bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience, or Master's with 10 years, or Doctorate with 5 years in Oceanic Engineering and/or Maritime Science.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Motivation to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Qualifications of Interest
Advanced degrees in electrical engineering, physics, computer science, or oceanic sciences.
Operational experience with sonar, GPS, acoustics, and undersea sensors.
Knowledge of networking, communications, data standards, and hardware integration.
Understanding of environmental issues.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative solutions.
Proactive, self-motivated, capable of driving results with minimal oversight.
Must be a US Citizen ; position requires obtaining a government security clearance.
