Boston, MA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote weekly) Vertex operates at the forefront of scientific innovation and has successfully developed and commercialized multiple breakthrough medicines for Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Casgevy (a gene therapy for sickle cell disease and beta-thalassemia), and has ongoing research programs in Pain, APOL-1 mediated kidney disease (AMKD), and cell therapies for Type 1 diabetes, among others. Povetacicept is a potent dual antagonist of BAFF and APRIL pathways, with potential best-in-class efficacy for IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and primary membranous nephropathy (pMN). IgAN is a serious autoimmune kidney disease and the most common cause of primary glomerulonephritis worldwide, with no current targeted therapies. Due to its mechanism, povetacicept may benefit patients with other autoimmune kidney diseases and autoimmune cytopenias. Vertex is expanding its Global Value and Access Strategy (GVAS) team to support the launch of povetacicept. The Market Access function ensures that Vertex therapies are appropriately funded and accessible to patients globally, working cross-functionally and across regions to incorporate payer perspectives into development and commercial plans. Director, Global Value & Access Strategy, povetacicept
will focus on launch readiness for new indications and lifecycle management. Responsibilities include developing global pricing and access strategies, value communications, leading cross-portfolio capability building, and advancing knowledge of the evolving payer environment. The role reports to the Global Value & Access Strategy Lead, povetacicept. Key Responsibilities: Ensure launch readiness for new indications: Partner cross-functionally and cross-regionally for a differentiated value proposition and evidence plan Develop global pricing, market access strategies, payment models, and negotiation approaches Lead development of payer strategies and evidence prioritization Drive unbranded and branded payer value communications and training Lifecycle management: Shape lifecycle strategies, including indication sequencing Identify and prioritize evidence for access trials and value optimization Other responsibilities include ensuring market access considerations are integrated into cross-functional strategies, collaborating with HEOR, regional teams, and clinical development, and proactively addressing market trends. Qualifications: 8+ years in biotech/pharma or payer experience Deep knowledge of US and ex-US healthcare systems; global or specialty disease experience is a plus Strategic thinking with pricing and access recommendations Entrepreneurial, energetic, decisive, self-motivated Strong analytical skills and understanding of pricing, reimbursement, and HEOR principles Experience in commercialization and drug development Effective in cross-functional, matrix environments Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ethical, reliable, and aligned with Vertex’s values Education: BA/BS in a quantitative field; advanced degree preferred #LI-LN1 Pay Range:
