The Azure Data Architect will lead our team in developing our core products, focusing on designing and implementing Azure cloud-based solutions. Must have extensive experience with machine learning, natural language processing, and Azure data services. The candidate should possess a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, ambition, and a collaborative spirit.
Essential Duties, Skills, and Responsibilities
Lead requirements gathering, analysis, and solution development for Azure cloud-based solutions.
Architect, design, and implement plans for deploying complex application workloads on Azure.
Present technical solutions effectively to stakeholders.
Design and deploy enterprise-level Azure infrastructure projects for hosting application services.
Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to ensure requirements are properly integrated into Azure designs.
Design, test, and implement application service migrations, both manually and automatically.
Provide expertise and leadership in Azure infrastructure and application solutions.
Demonstrate thought leadership in cloud computing across multiple domains.
Develop technical roadmaps for future Azure cloud implementations.
Ensure security is integrated into all cloud architecture solutions.
Competencies
Proficiency in configuring and leveraging Azure Application Insights.
Knowledge of modern architecture techniques such as event-driven architectures, stream processing, event sourcing/CQRS, and Event Storming.
Experience building enterprise web applications using .NET and SQL Server.
In-depth experience architecting complex Azure public and private cloud platform solutions (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS).
Experience with containerization and PaaS tools like Kubernetes, Docker, Azure Stack.
Ability to work with ambiguity and visualize solutions for emerging concepts.
Hands-on experience with Azure Data services including Azure Data Lake Gen 2, Azure SQL DB, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, Azure Analysis Service, and PowerBI.
Proficiency in scripting using Python.
Understanding of Azure security best practices for both commercial and federal environments.
Qualifications
Pass a background check, coding challenge, and chemistry test.
Detail-oriented, organized, hardworking, passionate, independent, and responsive.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is required.
At least 5+ years of Azure solution architecture experience.
4-year Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as B.Sc., B.Eng., or Computer Science.
