Project Kuiper aims to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. Role Description
This role offers an opportunity to identify security issues in chips and low-level software that enable satellite broadband services. You will review design and code, perform tests, and find bugs in chips. The Security team focuses on identifying security flaws, guiding secure hardware architecture, and performing chip-level security testing, architecture design, and reviews for secure boot, bootloader, and firmware. Responsibilities
Guide secure development of devices, including security design, threat modeling, code reviews, testing, and fuzzing. Research and develop tools and techniques to enhance device security at scale. Provide security expertise and consulting to product teams. Identify security risks and collaborate on mitigations. Create and update security policies and procedures. Promote security awareness and develop training materials. Participate in projects to develop intellectual property. Export Control Requirements
Candidates must be U.S. citizens, nationals, Green Card holders, refugees, or asylees due to export control laws. Basic Qualifications
Bachelors in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Experience with threat modeling or risk identification techniques. Knowledge of hardware security mechanisms (secure boot, trusted execution environments). Understanding of Linux and RTOS internals. Scripting experience (Python, Ruby, Bash). Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in relevant fields. Experience with hardware reverse engineering, system and network security, cryptography, and protocols. Experience with wireless protocols like Bluetooth and WiFi. Knowledge of security vulnerabilities, penetration testing, and exploit development. Additional Information
