Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a passionate

Sentinel Principal Software Engineer - 14624

to join our team and support the Sentinel Program. This role will be based in

Huntsville, AL

or

Colorado Springs, CO .

Candidates should be highly motivated engineers who can work both independently and in team environments. The selected candidate will use MBSE principles to model various processes, tools, and activities that span the Sentinel program. The successful candidate must be proficient in Cameo and DOORS, have an in-depth understanding of MBSE, and support less experienced MBSE teammates through knowledge sharing and peer review of work products.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Perform requirements analysis, review and document source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure product requirements are met.

Interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers, and specialty engineers to capture Sentinel Node structure and behavior across UPDM/UAF/SysML/UML MBSE frameworks.

Support requirement decomposition, derivation, and traceability.

This position offers a standard 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees to take every other Friday off. It may also offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or PhD with 1 year of experience, or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.

Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval.

Understanding of software engineering best practices.

5+ years of experience in software engineering, system design, requirements, and testing.

Experience delivering software products for IFC Certification.

Ability to plan, execute, and manage technical scope and support leadership planning.

Experience with Agile and cross-functional Scrum teams.

Experience with Software Safety (Mil-STD882E) and performing Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis (SCFTA).

5+ years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Experience with USAF Nuclear Surety (AFMAN91-119) and/or Cyber Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Designing and writing requirements for Safety Critical Functions.

Integrating multiple engineering specialties across teams and suppliers.

Leading requirements, design, and system integration of complex systems.

Creating plans and standards for architecture, requirements, and design addressing safe, fault-tolerant, deterministic operation for critical functions.

Establishing Software Requirements Peer Review Processes.

Creating verification plans for complete functional validation.

Knowledge of Command and Launch systems and mission objectives.

Certifications such as INCOSE ASEP or CSEP, OMG SysML Model Builder Fundamental.

Experience with verification planning and system buildup for Flight Tests.

Experience with Model-Based Product Line Engineering Concepts.

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $158,000.00. This range is a guideline; actual offers depend on various factors including experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, and PTO. The application period is approximately 20 days from posting, subject to change.
