The Chicago School seeks an
innovative and strategic Associate Director of Academic Support and Learning
to lead national academic support initiatives. This role oversees teaching and learning programs, academic skill development, and writing services across the institution. The Associate Director will also serve as the
Coordinator of the Office of Student Writing and Learning (OSWL) . Reporting to the
University Librarian , the role involves collaboration with faculty, administrators, and stakeholders to enhance academic programs. This position is
remote/hybrid , with occasional travel to campus. Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight of national student academic skill development initiatives. Manage and expand OSWL programming for diverse student needs. Lead communication strategies for OSWL, including digital platforms. Coordinate writing support services and develop academic skill initiatives. Collaborate with faculty to support writing across disciplines. Oversee dissertation and multilingual student writing support services. Partner with departments to design tailored support services. Chair the Artificial Intelligence Content Standards Committee. Hire, train, and supervise support staff and tutors. Oversee program evaluation and reporting, maintaining confidentiality. Qualifications
Master’s degree in relevant fields; PhD preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in higher education support or related leadership roles. Experience managing virtual teams. Strong knowledge of APA and AMA styles. Proven teaching excellence in diverse settings. Preferred Skills
Experience in academic support roles or learning centers. Knowledge of WAC and WID frameworks. Proficiency with academic technology platforms. Ability to develop and evaluate co-curricular programs. Compensation & Benefits
Salary ranges from
$70,000 - $75,000 . Benefits include paid time off, insurance, retirement, flexible spending, and tuition reimbursement. More details can be found at
