Job Title: Field Service Technician Department: Service FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary Under direct supervision of the Service Manager, performs new equipment installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs of BLM equipment at customer sites. Facilitates timely resolutions to customer issues and maintains positive client relationships.

Essential Functions

Supports sales staff in servicing BLM equipment

Installs new equipment at customer sites

Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and servicing of equipment

Documents all service activities accurately and notes future service needs

Maintains excellent customer service and satisfaction

Demonstrates BLM GROUP software capabilities to customers

Prepares timesheets, service reports, and installation forms promptly and accurately

Tracks expenses and completes reports timely

Maintains a safe work environment following OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines

Communicates with other departments as needed

Works overtime as required

Travels up to 90% as assigned

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Associate Degree or military experience preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar technical role

At least 1 year of customer service experience

Experience with Trumpf, Amada, Mazak laser machinery preferred

Licensing/Certifications Valid Driver’s License with no more than two points in the past three years

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet use

Ability to use I/O structures for troubleshooting

Ability to use electronic testing/measurement equipment

Strong analytical skills for technical issues

Ability to read and understand technical manuals

Effective documentation skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Highly organized and able to work independently

Resourceful and good time management

Team player with good interpersonal skills

Fluent in Italian preferred but not required

Physical and Mental Demands Must be able to lift 50-70 pounds, work in noisy environments, and handle physical and mental challenges typical of field service roles.
