Overview The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Specialist will work closely with the Clinical Dean and Director of Clinical Education at both Harlem & Middletown locations of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM). The role reports directly to the Executive Dean and involves visiting affiliate hospitals to support and expand Touro’s residency programs and hospital partnerships.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Clinical Dean & Director of Clinical Education to support osteopathic education across undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education at clinical affiliates.
Gather data, develop reports, and monitor residency assignments to support GME programming.
Manage the GME Annual Review Process for the institution and its programs.
Develop and implement GME “Best Practice” resources.
Assist leadership with program development, implementation, and assessment to achieve high-quality outcomes.
Support professional development activities for faculty and staff involved in GME programs.
Develop wellbeing programs for GME trainees.
Create professional development plans for junior faculty in GME leadership roles.
Collaborate with departments like Student and Alumni Affairs to enhance medical education.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
Experience with graduate medical education programs preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Ability to learn departmental functions and courses.
Proficiency in data analysis and report generation.
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Travel
Regular travel to clinical sites in NYC; occasional travel to upstate NY and Pennsylvania.
Valid driver’s license required.
Occasional national travel for conferences.
Salary Range Maximum: USD $75,000/year; Minimum: USD $60,000/year.
