Job Description This role involves performing procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures in the oncology department, primarily during daytime hours. Responsibilities include: Providing clinical leadership and comprehensive patient assessments in collaboration with physicians. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, establishing diagnoses, and developing treatment plans. Performing invasive procedures and participating in patient rounds. Communicating care plans with team members, patients, and families, including education and counseling. Facilitating patient flow and discharge planning with multidisciplinary teams. Providing educational programs and mentoring to staff and students. Participating in quality improvement, research, and organizational initiatives. Qualifications Master's degree in Nursing with certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Maryland. Current CPR certification; ACLS/BCLS as required. At least one year of nursing experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to promote professionalism and participate in ongoing education. Working Conditions Potential for weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime hours. Exposure to infectious diseases requiring adherence to universal precautions. Patient Safety Ensuring safety through adherence to policies, reporting risks, and participating in safety initiatives.
