Description As a
Sourcing Manager
at Impulse, you will collaborate with multiple departments to support procurement and supplier management activities for hardware and materials critical to spacecraft production. You will oversee supplier qualification processes to ensure standards are met, evaluate potential suppliers, and build long-term partnerships to ensure timely delivery of mission-critical materials.
Responsibilities
Manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and cost optimization. Maintain an open orders report to track vendor performance, resolve delays, and drive schedule accountability.
Lead high-volume RFPs to evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, lead time, and capabilities. Negotiate pricing and qualify new suppliers.
Handle quoting and purchase order issuance, ensuring a 24-48 hour turnaround depending on complexity.
Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to update BOM configurations in a dynamic environment.
Forecast demand for shared BOM components, assess supplier capacity, and manage supply signals to meet production timelines.
Onboard new suppliers, manage profiles, and ensure proper documentation.
Work with legal to draft and finalize contracts.
Source custom parts by matching specifications with supplier capabilities, lead time, and costs.
Partner with engineering teams to ensure timely design releases and efficient vendor selection.
Monitor inventory levels and implement procurement systems to meet demand.
Coordinate logistics for outsourced parts, drop shipments, and open orders to ensure timely delivery.
Oversee receipt accuracy against POs and vendor invoices for proper financial tracking.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
4+ years experience with ERP or inventory management systems
4+ years experience in procurement, logistics, and vendor management
Preferred Skills and Experience
6+ years procurement or sourcing experience, including negotiations and cost analysis
Experience with aerospace-related commodities and manufacturing processes
Proficiency in dashboard tools and data analysis (Excel, SQL, Power BI)
