The

Communications Technician 3

is responsible for the installation, planning, organizing, and scheduling of communications cabling and equipment to complete work orders, including task assignment, quality assurance, and inspections. The role requires monitoring task completion, ensuring compliance, and maintaining safety standards per applicable plans, codes, and industry standards. This position demands proficiency in telecommunication systems such as OSP & ISP Copper, CCTV, DAS, Fiber Optic, and Structured Cabling, with an aim to become a qualified BICSI Technician. The candidate must have hands-on experience in installing low-voltage systems in industries like healthcare, government, higher education, and mission-critical sectors. Position Requirements

Extensive field experience in structured cabling installation, termination, and testing within commercial construction. Experience in terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper cabling (Cat 5, Cat 6). Knowledge of ISP/OSP telecommunications systems, including fiber optics, pathways, racks, and grounding systems. Leadership skills to supervise teams of 6-10 technicians. Own necessary tools prior to employment. Skills in fiber termination techniques such as fusion splicing and anaerobic methods. Ability to work independently and in compliance with standards like TIA and EIA. Position Responsibilities

Lead small to medium telecommunications projects. Supervise and mentor junior team members. Conduct inspections, review blueprints, and ensure safety and quality standards. Install and terminate cabling, support project documentation, and perform QA checks. Education, Experience & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 6+ years of telecommunications field experience. Experience with OSP & ISP copper, fiber optics, CCTV, DAS, and structured cabling in diverse industries. Ability to read plans and specifications. Strong communication and organizational skills. Reliable transportation and basic tools are required. Desired Qualifications

Active security clearance. Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally. BICSI Technician certification and fiber certifications. Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Physical Abilities

Lift at least 100 pounds, work at heights up to 60 feet, and perform physical tasks routinely. Good vision and communication skills. Benefits
