Registered Veterinary Technician FLSA Status:

Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA (PHS/SPCA) is a local, private, non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare. We build healthy relationships between people and animals, accepting a wide range of animals, including injured and orphaned wildlife. We save approximately 6,300 lives each year and offer low-cost spay/neuter services. Learn more at

You are passionate about animal rehabilitation and making a difference. You have veterinary knowledge to assist with medical evaluations, surgeries, and procedures. Your care extends to shelter animals and clients alike. Responsibilities
Perform physical exams and restrain animals for treatment. Manage inventory and supplies. Conduct laboratory procedures, including microscopy and blood/dental machines. Initiate emergency medical practices when necessary. Calculate and prepare medications. Induce and monitor anesthesia; assist during surgeries. Administer vaccinations and provide humane care. Handle admitting/discharge duties and maintain medical records. Maintain equipment and ensure cleanliness. Assist with euthanasia procedures as needed. Supervision
This role may supervise volunteers. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience. Proficiency in dental procedures on dogs and cats. Registered Veterinary Technician certification. Ability to read and interpret medical and safety documents. Effective communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, especially in emergencies. Proficiency with Chameleon software, Microsoft Office, and data entry. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently. Licenses and Benefits
