The Department of Nursing within the Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences (MCNHS) invites applicants to join our diverse college as a tenure-track Assistant Professor, beginning September 1, 2024. These positions aim to enhance our research portfolio and educational programs at both graduate and undergraduate levels. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in fundamentals of professional nursing, maternal health, child health, community health, mental health, and health policy.

Applicants must possess an earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field and be eligible for RN licensure in Massachusetts. Preference will be given to those who have established an independent research agenda, demonstrated the ability or promise to secure external research funding, and have peer-reviewed data-based publications in relevant areas. Teaching experience in higher education is preferred, with online teaching experience considered a plus. Our programs focus on health across the life course of diverse populations, emphasizing health equity and reducing disparities. For more information, visit

The MCNHS and its Office of Research offer robust mentoring programs for faculty, including support for grant proposals and manuscript development. The college collaborates with numerous major institutions around Boston, such as the Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, UMass Chan Medical School, and Boston Children's Hospital, fostering multidisciplinary research opportunities. The University of Massachusetts Boston-Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center grant ( https://umb-dfhcc.org/ ) exemplifies longstanding partnerships aimed at addressing health disparities and advancing community outreach.

The nursing programs (BS, MS, DNP) are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The MS and DNP programs prepare Family Nurse Practitioners and Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioners, while the PhD program emphasizes population health and health policy.
