Our company is developing products and services for the electric vehicle space. Founded in early 2022, Project Re:Car spent its formative months establishing a leadership team and the product definition.

Who we are looking for

The Test and Tools Software Engineer will work on the technical aspects of the Embedded software test and automation meeting the expectation of software development plans and execution for the company. This position will be responsible for working cross functionally to ensure the software milestones for the company have a high-quality execution.

What you get to do

In this position the candidate will develop test and automation strategy in software development.

  • Design, implement and build solutions for automating embedded software testing environment, setup, Mobile App testing on real devices and emulation environments.
  • Build tools for configuring/controlling unit test/Integration test/HIL tools or data acquisition devices, parsing logs and analyzing faults to consolidate in a dashboard and reporting for project management deliverables.
  • Work with the test and development teams to maximize automation testing in each sprint and track automation tasks as part of Sprint delivery to bring efficiency to the process.
  • Develop tools and APIs to auto-update software build automation, send automated notifications, generate documentation and summary reports, generate/process events, automate change management workflows etc.
  • Automate end-to-end tests on for mobile applications connectivity to vehicle software.
  • Automate embedded fault management analysis from vehicle testing, diagnostics and fault code parsing, retrieval, memory dump, storage and dashboard creation tool.
  • Build integrations between tools, automate workflows and data transfers between different tool set systems.
  • Work with the team on identifying improvement areas and generate tracking metrics or KPIs from automation.

What you bring to the team

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Python, .NET, ASP/JSP, Java, or object-oriented programming.
  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with building Automation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience developing applications and libs using standard programming platforms such as Python, interfacing with embedded devices, automating mobile and embedded software running on Vehicle ECU devices.
  • Experience in building and managing automated test suites that can be used by other teams in CI/CD (Jenkins, HIL etc.) and SQA.
  • Experience in analyzing and parsing data in/from various formats like XML, Text, CSV, Excel etc. and using tools for data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of science degree in engineering in Electrical and/or Computer engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science.
  • Solid experience working with tools like Polarian, Jira, GitHub, databases, cloud-based data access etc.
  • Experience using/working with cloud solutions for compute, storage, authentication, messaging services, etc.
  • Experience in usage of commercially available vehicle serial communication tools such as ETAS-INCA, CANape or CANoe/CANalyzer.
  • Extensive experience in requirements, change and configuration management tools such as Polarian, JIRA, Bitbucket, IBM-RTC etc.
