YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY: The Director of Engineering is an engineering management position that is responsible for providing complete oversight for the direction, planning, management and ongoing engineering operations on a regional basis. Provide input on strategic decision making and processes to the VP, Engineering and other Directors and Officers. This key role will represent our Data Center/Mission Critical scope of work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Lead, consult and be customer facing, bringing deep knowledge and expertise of Data Center, AI and Mission Critical work and managing a large scope of project work.

Report directly to the Senior Director or Vice President, Engineering and participate in senior manager planning including engineering, detailing/modeling and principal engineering work for the firm.

Develop and oversee the Engineering operation in their region of responsibility, anticipating, planning and mapping group, team and staff skills to the work.

Build and train staff throughout the region of responsibility.

Responsible for HR and budgetary oversight for the Regional Engineering group.

Develop proposals and present to secure work on behalf of the firm.

Direct preliminary engineering activities, focusing on large value or high risk work when needed.

Direct significant project close-out, installation or manufacturing QA/QC or testing/commissioning operations.

Act as the firm's emissary for dispute resolution or sensitive client work or negotiations.

Work independently with little direction based on the operating business plan and financial controls.

Develop a complete action plan for required deliverables or projects based on executive-level guidance.

Oversee complex project-specific work, such as sequence of operations, equipment/system testing scripts or complex engineering products.

Visit project locations to ascertain existing conditions, perform feasibility studies, and conduct field investigations as requested.

Conduct value engineering evaluations to fully engineered designs.

Evaluate project/system design criteria with budgetary issues.

Extensive knowledge of equipment and fluency in electrical system testing and commissioning is preferred.

Support Pre-Construction efforts in Estimating and Business Development.

Review and understand contract requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Advanced knowledge of building systems electrical engineering, manufacturing or technology.

Advanced management skills, including work planning, resource management, fee development, and staff oversight.

Advanced knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office; Oracle preferred.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting as necessary.

Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and Trade Partners.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or related discipline.

Typically requires 12 years of related work experience - can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Registration as a licensed US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required.

TRAVEL:

Up to 50%

WORKING CONDITIONS:

General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions.

Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Pay Range:

$173,800.00-$228,100.00 Annual

The pay range for this role is based on candidates meeting specified qualifications and requirements. Candidate's pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
