Job Description Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing support of Cassandra operations and data management. 5+ years of solid Cassandra DBA experience managing critical 24/7 applications. Hands-on experience with Cassandra database hosted on Amazon cloud is required. Set up nodes, work on foundations, data models, etc., and implement Cassandra databases in enterprise environments. Design and support data migration processes. Administer Cassandra databases on multi-data center clusters, with hands-on experience in setting up Cassandra clusters. Monitor, perform performance tuning, and manage Cassandra clusters. Deep understanding of Cassandra internals such as gossip protocol, hinted handoffs, read repairs, and Merkle trees. Knowledge of architecting and creating Cassandra/NoSQL database systems. Solid understanding of NoSQL databases. Expertise in performance tuning. Solid experience with Solr. Experience handling big data. Knowledge of other NoSQL (MongoDB) and RDBMS technologies is a plus. Proven experience in hardware and software issue identification. Deep understanding of Cassandra design principles, cluster connectivity, security, and factors influencing distributed system performance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution; three years of progressive experience in the field may substitute for each year of education.
