We are looking for a Principal Data Engineer/Architect with strong application development and architecture skills to work with our clients to solve technology needs. Architects will be responsible for working directly with multiple clients across various industries, leading a highly collaborative team of engineers at West Monroe. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Technology and Experience practice on strategic enterprise architecture projects, post-merger integrations, and large-scale implementations. Your West Monroe team will include industry specialists as well as your technical and functional counterparts. Together, we work with client leadership to set vision, define strategy, and execute project implementations that deliver unique value. As an Architect, you will help set the direction for this growing team. Responsibilities Interact with key decision makers (CIO, IT Directors, etc.) at clients to drive projects Lead and mentor a technical team lead, manage projects, and serve as the client liaison Be an expert and suggest new technologies to clients Lead full lifecycle projects from requirements gathering through development, implementation, and roll-out Apply a creative, 'blank slate' development mentality within client expectations Work on custom web front ends, application development, and system integration Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience 7-11+ years of experience in a data environment Experience designing or developing modern distributed architectures using messaging patterns and tools Strong software engineering skills, including: Expertise in Databricks Experience with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server) and large unstructured data sets Proficiency in ETL procedures from scratch Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure Experience with reporting tools like PowerBI and Tableau Knowledge of Azure SQL, Data Lake, Data Factory Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments Leadership and mentorship skills Commitment to diversity and inclusion Consulting experience preferred Willingness to travel for client engagements Salary Range Based on location, experience, and skills.
