A Maintenance Equipment l Technician will have demonstrated work and leadership characteristics required to achieve success in a multi-faceted manufacturing environment. The position demands an individual capable of working on

technical/operational

projects that involve a broad range of equipment, materials, and procedural issues. A Maintenance Equipment Technician will have proven talents in written/verbal communications, logical thought processes, maintenance skills specific to a manufacturing environment, working effectively as a member of a team, and recognizing potential problems and providing means for avoiding the problems. The Maintenance Equipment Technician must perform assignments to completion as instructed and be willing to work in a team environment. Principle Accountabilities Follows all Safety Rules. Participates in monthly 100% Safety Participation Program. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, gear reducers, conveyor systems, precision bearings and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Understanding of vibration analysis, thermal imaging and precision alignment. Thorough knowledge of the hydraulics and pneumatics. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience High School diploma, or equivalent, plus 5 years related industrial maintenance experience or equivalent required, or Associate's degree plus 3 years of related industrial maintenance experience required. Skills in the areas of pneumatic, hydraulic and drive systems are needed. Experience with troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC drives, PLC's and industrial controls is a must. Candidates must be proficient in using Allen Bradley's PLC software. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite preferred. Good communication skills, project scheduling and small team leadership abilities. Ability to work in a self-directed workforce environment. Exceptional organizational and time management skills required. Able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
