AWS Cloud Platform Engineer Location: Columbia, MD Salary: From $125,000 annually Must Have: Experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer Active Secret US security clearance 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development in Python or Java Experience developing infrastructure in AWS Solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications, and proficiency in shell scripting (Shell/Bash) Familiarity with DISA's Big Data Platform or similar systems such as Cloudera, Hortonworks, or MapR is a plus Experience with Kubernetes (or vendor-specific versions) Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab-CI, Travis-CI) Understanding of agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence, Github, Gitlab Strong systems integration skills with a focus on enhancing and optimizing code bases Experience with infrastructure as code using modern tools for defining and managing cloud infrastructure Experience with puppet, ansible, maven, virtualization technologies (ovirt, proxmox, VMware, etc.) Must hold a DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification (e.g., SSCP, Security+, CCNA-Security, GSEC) and baseline certifications (e.g., ACAS, AWS, Kubernetes) Educational requirements: Bachelor's in a related field, or 3 years relevant experience with a Master's, or high school diploma with 9 years relevant experience Responsibilities: Develop custom software components and integrate open-source code for complex time series analysis using Big Data / Cloud technologies Work independently to identify and solve problems while aligning with strategic goals Design and implement core architecture and capabilities from prototype to operational applications Enhance and optimize existing code bases for robustness and performance Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
