JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Physician OBGYN Hospitalist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Cooperstown, NY Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 09/01/2025 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: 78 shifts/month, 8p 8a COVERAGE DATES 09/01/2025 Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults, Obstetric and Gynecologic patients Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 1000 deliveries annually Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Phone Consults: No Case Mix: Obstetrics, Gynecology FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level 2 EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Backup MD coverage Support Staff Available: 24/7 Midwifery coverage Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate: $200/ hr Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Cesarean Section Dilation and Curettage (D&C) Laparoscopy for Ectopic Pregnancy JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active NY license Board: Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology DEA: Active DEA Certification Certifications: BLS, ACLS (recommended) Experience: Experience in OB hospitalist settings preferred Other Qualifications: Familiarity with Epic EMR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide overnight OB/GYN hospitalist coverage from 8p 8a Perform required procedures including C-section, D&C, and laparoscopy Manage labor and delivery for obstetric patients Collaborate with midwifery team and backup MDs for patient care Ensure accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR
