Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care at a state-operated long-term mental health facility in Farmington, Missouri. The ideal candidate will have experience with adult forensic and civil psychiatric populations and demonstrate strong skills in evaluation, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This is a full-time, weekday-only position with the option to earn additional compensation through on-call shifts. Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry. Active and unrestricted medical license in the State of Missouri. Valid DEA registration and NPI number. Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred). Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry; forensic or state hospital experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with Missouri laws governing mental health treatment and forensic commitments (e.g., NGRI, PIST, SVP). Ability to work with complex psychiatric diagnoses such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Mood Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, and Personality Disorders Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments for adult patients with serious mental illness and varying legal statuses (e.g., NGRI, SVP, PIST, VBG). Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices and individualized treatment plans. Participate in crisis response and risk assessments related to psychiatric decompensation, suicide prevention, or behavioral incidents. Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, including nurses, psychologists, social workers, pharmacists, recreation staff, primary care physicians, and dietary personnel. Contribute to initial and ongoing treatment planning, including court-ordered conditional and unconditional release recommendations. Complete all required clinical documentation, including monthly summaries, annual evaluations, admission/discharge notes, and progress updates. Attend weekly ward team meetings and participate in medical staff or case consultation meetings as required. Serve as Psychiatric Officer of the Day (OD) 24 times
