Description: The Gund Company has an immediate opening at our Waukesha, WI manufacturing plant for a full-time Experienced CNC Vertical Mill Setup Operator to join our team!

Work Hours: First Shift, Monday - Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm

Hourly wage: $28-30 (based on experience)

Plant location: 809 Phillip Drive, Waukesha, WI 53186

Job Summary CNC Machine Setup

Setups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as profile and contour milling, boring, recessing, turning, drilling, threading, etc., to the capacity of the machine and control factor. Operates numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill. May check parts for conformance to specifications and run and set up more than one unit simultaneously.

Job Duties CNC Machine Setup

  • Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment
  • Set-up and operate CNC machining centers in multiple cells that include but are not limited to mills, lathes, presses, routers etc.
  • Perform advanced setup operations
  • Perform work independently with minimal defects
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of combined formal training and experience, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures
  • Broad knowledge of machining techniques
  • Open to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of parts
  • Intermediate math skills and/or aptitudes
  • Ability to use basic measuring instruments
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing industry

Work Environment

  • Not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes/dust particles, may require use of respirators or other types of PPE.
  • May come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
