Summary Grady Health System is seeking a compassionate and skilled Child Life Specialist to join our renowned Burn Program on a full-time basis. In this vital role, you will help children and their families navigate the emotional and psychological challenges of hospitalization, injury, and recovery. Working primarily within the burn unitand collaborating with other pediatric areasyou will provide age-appropriate preparation for medical procedures, pain management techniques, coping strategies, and therapeutic play activities that promote healing and resilience.
As an integral member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will partner closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and social workers to ensure children and their families receive the emotional support, education, and guidance they need. You will also serve as a trusted resource for parents, siblings, and caregivers, fostering a supportive environment throughout the care journey.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Child Life or Child Development required
Completion of a minimum 480-hour Child Life internship required
Child Life Professional Certification (CLPC) required
Child Life Specialist Certification (CLSC) preferred
Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting strongly preferred
Social services experience a plus
