Job Summary :
The Process Technicians are responsible for performing mold setup/pull, start-ups/shutdowns and providing technical support to the Production Department and Engineering. They also must be a strong leader and team player able to provide support and training to the rest of the set up and material technical team. The Process Technicians must be able to manage and maintain robust injection molding processes and support Quality and other departments as needed.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
:
Perform injection mold setups, start-ups/shutdowns and pull while following proper procedures. Support injection mold validations with Process Engineers’ guidance. Responsible for auditing and properly documenting the injection molding processes. Able to
troubleshoot/problem
solve injection molding processes and supporting equipment (find root causes.) Responsible for being the main contact for the Production Leads, Production Manager and Engineering Team members. Communicate effectively with other shifts on the status of all molds/machines and be able to train and explain how to solve any problem related to molding. (use communication log) Responsible for helping ensure part quality meets customer requirements. Work with improvement project teams to improve production metrics. Responsible for maintaining efficient molding process cycle times. Work closely with the Maintenance Department to repair molding equipment and improve machine reliability. Work with the Tooling Department to assist with mold maintenance activities, as needed. Provide leadership and training to other Technicians and Material Handlers. Follow company procedures and safety rules. Report any unsafe condition or practice Must be able and willing to perform all technical and operational duties assigned. (Example: fill in for breaks, assist production associates when needed, etc.) Responsible for following and ensuring proper use of injection molding set-up documentation management system. Follow and support all Quality and Production documentation and procedures by providing the proper signatures and signoffs where required. Use the company database to update, retrieve and review information correctly Always maintain a clean and safe work environment. Provide updates to the Production Lead and Production Manager on daily production runs. Communicate effectively to all personnel in all departments, maintaining a teamwork environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Dependable, hardworking, positive attitude and willingness to learn new methods and technologies. Effectively communicate (written and orally.) Able to use computer and programs such as M.S. Excel, M.S. Word and M.S. Outlook. Must be able to demonstrate basic math skills Skills in injection molding process (follow decoupled molding) Knowledge with or willingness to learn, injection molding machine troubleshooting. Experience with or willingness to learn, different types of injection mold designs (cold runner, hot runner, core pull, slides, unscrewing, etc.) Experience or willingness to learn operating secondary operation, ancillary and automation equipment Advanced knowledge of proper mold set-ups (water connections, mold safety switches, etc.) Knowledgeable in the proper care for all equipment and molds. Education and/or Experience :
H.S. Diploma (or equivalent) Experience in injection molding industry a plus
Training Requirements: General Safety Fork truck operation and safety Injection molding start-up/restart and shutdown procedures Cycle time monitoring procedures Mold/Process procedures Scientific Injection Molding Training

(desired not required) RJG Master Molder Certificate
(desired not required) Physical Demands
: Moderate physical effort required. Must be able to safely lift up to 55 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Personal Protective Equipment: Safety glasses and shoes must always be worn in all assigned areas.
Work Environment: Work performed in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
