Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our Production Assembly team. This role involves precision soldering, component assembly, and working with RF components under a microscope. The ideal candidate will have strong manual dexterity, experience with surface mount technology (SMT), and a solid understanding of quality standards such as AS9100D and IPC.

Responsibilities

Assemble devices by positioning and fastening parts using screws, bolts, and hand tools.

Perform precision soldering of components, wires, connectors, and capacitors using SN96 solder under a microscope.

Mix adhesives and perform encapsulation processes.

Rework and repair RF components and filters by removing connectors/capacitors and soldering on new ones.

Build and reassemble modules and rackmounts.

Use calipers and micrometers to measure parts and verify tolerances.

Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.

Operate hot plates and adjust temperatures for soldering processes.

Maintain compliance with AS9100D and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, and supplies.

Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE in designated areas.

Essential Skills

Experience performing SMT soldering on connectors and capacitors.

Ability to perform microscope assembly (will be using a microscope all day).

Experience using hot plates to connect components to a PCB and adjusting the temperature.

Strong manual dexterity.

Basic knowledge of how to use calipers and micrometers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong verbal communication and ability to follow verbal instructions and engineering sketches.

ITAR compliance required.

Work Environment

Work on a 4/10 schedule, Monday through Thursday, from 7am to 5:30pm, with flexibility on start time. Join a small team of about 10 people onsite, where you will be sitting down and using a microscope to perform soldering for the majority of the day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
