The College of Arts & Letters at the University of Notre Dame is seeking a Data Analyst and Project Manager to lead data-informed strategic planning and cross-functional project execution. This one-year, limited-term position is designed to lay the foundation for a sustainable data infrastructure that drives long-term success and innovation within the College. In this highly collaborative role, you will serve as a key partner to the College Dean, Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and offices across campus—including Institutional Research, Innovation & Strategy (IRIS), Provost’s Office, Notre Dame Research, and IT. You will translate complex data into actionable insights, develop executive-level dashboards and reports, and manage strategic initiatives that align with the College’s mission of academic excellence and impact. The successful candidate will be a strong researcher, writer, and strategic communicator with impeccable judgment and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics. Key Responsibilities Data & Insight Leadership Partner with Institutional Research, Innovation & Strategy (IRIS), Notre Dame Research, IT, and other relevant offices to collect, synthesize, and analyze data related to College research and teaching investments, faculty productivity, research impact, peer benchmarking, enrollment, student success, academic outcomes, financial performance, and operational efficiency. Leverage data and institutional metrics to identify opportunities for improving the visibility, performance, and national rankings of academic departments. Analyze key trends in enrollment, academic performance, graduate placement, budget, and peer benchmarking to support evidence-based planning. With IRIS, develop dashboards, executive-ready reports, briefs, and presentations to support data-informed decision-making. Create data dashboards and tools that enable continuous monitoring of strategic indicators that align with developing excellent departments and interdisciplinary programs. Prepare presentations, strategic briefs, and communications that articulate key findings and recommendations. Strategic Project Oversight Collaborate on strategic initiatives across departments and contribute to shaping the college’s public narrative and positioning. Lead or support cross-functional strategic initiatives from conception through implementation and assessment. Ensure alignment of college-wide efforts with institutional mission, vision, and values. Coordinate and ensure the execution of special projects and initiatives assigned by the Dean. Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, public policy, quantitative social science, or a related field is required; PhD in social science strongly preferred. Proven experience in data analysis, strategic planning, or project management—preferably in a higher education or research-intensive environment. Outstanding statistical and data science skills. Proficiency in R and/or Python for data processing and analysis. Proficiency in Tableau to access various data sources and visualize data. Proficiency in data visualization. Proficiency with data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel, SQL, or similar platforms). Exceptional analytical, communication, and writing skills with the ability to convey complex findings to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across units. High level

of professionalism, judgment, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
