JOB DESCRIPTION: As an Area Sales Manager, you are responsible for managing a team of Direct Sales Representatives in a designated region and helping them achieve success- while also proactively identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities. You will be responsible for your team’s success but also driving revenue growth, market penetration, and operational excellence across your region. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and will be highly motivated by hunting for new business. Locations: IOK (Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky) & Texas RESPONSIBILITIES: Coach, develop, and manage a team of Direct Sales Representatives (DSR) in designated region Develop new business and manage existing customers in

, bars, and restaurants Utilize value-based selling to prospect and close new business and manage the full sales cycle Organize and effectively manage a potential customer funnel of targets Coordinate and execute training and marketing project support for Java House accounts Keep current with and educate potential customers on liquid coffee and specialty beverage trends Demonstrate a proactive mentality for setting sales goals and closing accounts Drive sales performance and revenue growth QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Sales or Business and 5 years’ experience selling in specialty foodservice, Office Coffee Service (OCS), or Spirits Must have experience managing, coaching, and developing others Proven history of sales management experience & achievement KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Value-based selling, including MEDDIC or similar sales methodology Proficient at closing sales through existing relationships, warm leads, and cold calls Demonstrated success in new account penetration Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills are required Relentless drive to uncover and close new business Proven history of sales management experience & achievement Professional, positive, and proactive written and verbal communication skills Superior presentation skills to tell a compelling story and influence decision makers Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks on time and to expectation Must be able to travel throughout assigned territory and other markets as needed Must be capable (with or without accommodation) of bending and lifting to set up displays, adjust shelves during resets, move product, etc. Strong, collaborative, relationship-building, analytical and proactive problem-solving skills with experience leading others
